Lesson 3 of 3 in What This Is
Where Everything Is
The whole platform in one page — four things you do, two ways to find, and your own record.

This is the shortest lesson here, and it exists because the commonest reason people miss the best part of a place is that nobody told them the shape of it. Read it once and you will not need a map again.
The header has four links, and they are four verbs — things you do, in the order you do them. Everything else on the platform is a detail of one of them.
Four things you do, and the order they come in. Put each into the stage it belongs to.

Note
Learn → Practice → Labs → Exams is not a hierarchy of difficulty, it is a sequence of commitment. You can jump in anywhere, and nothing is locked behind anything else.
Two of those deserve a sentence each, because they are the ones unlike anywhere else you have used.
Practice is a real shell, running in this page. No VPN, no virtual machine, nothing to install, and it works on a phone. It is not a video of a terminal and it is not a picture — you type into it and it answers. The next chapter is nothing but that.
Labs run on a completely separate domain, with no account, no cookies, and no route to anything real. That separation is the reason we can hand you something genuinely broken and let you attack it properly.
Tip
When you cannot remember a word, there are two ways to find it and both are always available: search, which reads every lesson, and the glossary, which defines the vocabulary. Terms are linked inline the first time a lesson uses them.
The last piece is your own record, and it is the one thing here that requires an account: your dashboard is where you left off, your profile is what you have earned, and your settings is where you change your name, your passphrase, or take a holiday without losing a streak.
You want to attack something breakable without risking anything of your own. Where do you go?
That is the whole map. Two more chapters: one where you use the terminal, and one where you find out what XP, streaks, shields and the credential actually mean.
